Run

Endure the Pain, Keep the Faith, Finish Your Race

About Run

In September 2015, in an extraordinary effort called RUN50, Ferdie Cabiling set out on a 2,180 km run across the Philippines. He ran 50 km every day for almost 50 days, celebrating his 50th birthday along the way, to raise PHP 2,885,482 (over $55,500 USD) for scholars of the Real LIFE Foundation. Ferdie ran from the southernmost tip of the Philippines in Maasim, Sarangani, to the northernmost part in Aparri, Cagayan, praying with government officials and preaching in churches on Sundays.

Writing as an experienced ultramarathoner, the Running Pastor chronicles his journey of faith and shares a unique perspective on the author of Hebrews’ exhortation to a group of weary and frightened first-century Christians—to run with endurance the race set before them.

Ferdie Cabiling is a true hero. His courageous life is an inspiration to me and thousands more. Dare to follow his incredible journey through the pages of this book—you will be compelled to action. He demonstrates that the gospel is the cure for injustice and evil and should be heard by everyone everywhere.

Most adventure books inspire through the heroics of human self-preservation. Run inspires us with something deeper, more purposeful, and more long-lasting—heroics for the sake of others. The Running Pastor does not flinch in showing his weakness, pain, passion, or humanity while asking us, “Who are you a champion for?” Run is a page-turning energy drink for the soul.

Ferdie Cabiling inspires me. In his run across the Philippines, in his pursuit of a life of purpose, he stirs us and then he coaches us to our best. I am changed by how he lives and what he writes. You will be too.
