Pray for the Philippines
Discipleship Convergence 2009
In 1984, a group of sixty-five American university students, led by Rice Broocks, Al Manamtan and Steve and Deborah Murrell, went to the Philippines for a one-month mission trip. For Steve and Deborah, the one-month mission trip never ended as it soon gave birth to what is now Victory church. Victory started with just about 150 high school and university students but it has now grown to more than thirty thousand members across the Philippines.
Currently, Victory has thirteen congregations within Metro Manila and thirty-nine in other Philippine localities. Victory celebrates its 25th anniversary this year and Manny Carlos shares this report:
Our compassion ministry, the Real Life Foundation, has now more than 100 scholars and it continues to help underprivileged students in Metro Manila and other provinces. The weekly feeding program for children in a depressed community in Pasig City has also resulted in more people coming to a saving knowledge of Christ. We are grateful for all that the Lord is doing in and through us as we continue to honor God and make disciples. Prayer Points:
