From June 21-27, Pastor Jonathan Bocobo of Victory-Malate led a team of 6 Filipinos to Myanmar for a medical and relief mission and he reports, “After the cyclone, more people die of hunger, thirst and diseases.”

Cyclone Nargis is one of the most devastating calamities to hit the nation of Myanmar. It wiped out the homes of over 2 million people and left a massive death toll. Tens of thousands of people have died, and with its aftermath, the number of casualties continues to rise.

Pastor Jonathan and his team set up a medical station in Kyun Gyan Gon in the capital city of Yangon and in just 5 days, they were able to give medical assistance to over 400 people. They also gave medicines, clothes, food and water supply. Pastor Jonathan says, “Their condition is very depressing. They need more help. We know that something good will come out of every little help that we give.”
