Empowering the Needy in Namibia - p.3

Brick production is another avenue that is helping to better the
Babilon community. “With a simple and effective brick machine,
communities in the most remote areas will soon be able to manufacture
quality bricks,” explains Franz. To date, more than 20,000 bricks have
been sold, a great business opportunity for the residents.
The
impact that the Mullers are making has been reciprocated. “We have had
to learn that change and development of people takes time,” Franz
explains. “A daily challenge has been training pre-school teachers from
the community and changing worldviews and values.” Finances are another.
But despite these challenges, highlights do come. “When a building is
completed, when prayers are answered, when individuals get established
in the Lord, hearing a first sermon preached by one of them, when
children leave school for grade one able to speak English and
comprehend the basics for school, when work is generated for the
community,” Franz elaborates.
