Read the following report from Paul:

Our state governor is “The Terminator”… no really. Ok, so that doesn’t have much to do with planting a church in Long Beach, California but it got your attention.

Helping people grow in love for God and others. That’s it! Jesus summed up how we’re to live our lives when he said the two greatest commandments are to “love God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind” and “to love your neighbor as yourself”.

He also summed up what we are to live for when he said, “Go into all the world and make disciples”. We believe that the fulfillment of the Great Commission will result in people growing in love for God and others; no matter where the Gospel is preached. Being inspired by what Jesus said and how he lived out these commandments, we've moved to Long Beach, California to start a new church community.

Why Long Beach, California?

Well, we won’t bore you with the details of Long Beach being the fifth largest city in California or the fact that there are tens of thousands of college and high school students in the surrounding area. We won’t mention that the beach is just a five-minute-drive away and that it’s sunny 335 days out of the year. And we definitely won’t bore you with the fact that Los Angeles County, of which Long Beach is a part of, is one of the entertainment capitals of the world having impact, both good and bad, on what we, our children and our neighbors are influenced by every day through film, television and music.

Mission

Our hope is that The Journey Church Long Beach will be a “beachhead”, no pun intended, for planting churches to reach the 12 million residents in the Los Angeles and Orange County area.

Planting churches is our growing passion and we’re focused on reaching, equipping and empowering another generation of church planters who will plant new churches, reach college and high school students and influence the world through missions.
