Aside from the photos, the laughter and stories that will be forever reminisced, delegates will always remember May 23 as a day of firsts for Campus Harvest Manila 2008. First, it was Every Nation Campus Ministries US National Director, Pastor Morgan Stephens’ first trip to the Philippines. He enjoined all the delegates to be his barkada and crooned to the Beatles’ hit song “Strawberry Fields Forever”? belying the song’s message about life’s realities.
For the first time, Patrick Mercado spoke in front of a huge audience and encouraged students to live life to the full by believing God can help them make a difference in today’s society. Then there’s Mark Muleta, the 14-year old is the youngest speaker in a Campus Harvest event held in Manila. It is also his first time to speak in front of a 4,000-strong audience. Then there’s Pastor Steve. The Victory Philippines churches-founder showed to students, for the first time, age-old pictures of his peers who now lead their own churches and ministries all across the nation. The audience chuckled but learned the importance of building and maintaining relationships with their friends from small groups and churches. It was Pastor Steve’s key message of his talk as delegates went around sticking got Life tags on their leaders. This symbolized their thanksgiving and appreciation of their leaders.
Pictures are worth a thousand words. Check out the shots we posted and see what we mean.
